The Challenge

Almost 20 years ago, Geaves was approached by a shopfitting contractor to supply oversized 3600 x 1220mm fire-retardant wall panels for Primark stores. At the time, this size was not available on the market, requiring a bespoke manufacturing solution.

During the initial installation programme, edge damage to the panels also became an issue, creating the need for a more durable design.

The Solution

Geaves sourced a specialist core material and developed a bespoke wall panelling system specifically for Primark. Working in partnership with the retailer, we also designed an innovative rebated, overlapping edge profile that integrated with the existing metal framework, protecting panel edges during installation while maintaining a high-quality finish.

The Result

The original panel design remains in use across Primark stores almost 20 years later. As store designs have evolved, Geaves has continued to supply made-to-order panels in a range of colours and finishes, while still supporting legacy specifications for refurbishment projects.

Working closely with shopfitters and main contractors, we manufacture and deliver panels directly to stores—whether a single replacement panel or a complete store package—ensuring every project is completed on time and to specification.

Today, Geaves continues to work alongside Primark to develop new surface solutions that support the retailer's evolving store environments.
